The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donato Medeiros during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Marezinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitinho Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in AF São Francisco's zone, Diamantino Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sydney Cruz came out of the goal and Diamantino Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Marezinha's Gualter de Andrade got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes AF São Francisco got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Vidal. 56 minutes into the match, Marezinha's Gualter de Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sydney Cruz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gualter de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. AF São Francisco's Sydney Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter de Andrade in the 61st minute of play.
