Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alfredinho Santana took the kick off in the first half of the match. Luís Veloso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugênio Batista's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Macacu EC's zone, Zé Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Veloso came out of the goal and Zé Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eugênio Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Veloso having to interfere. Hernani Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Eugênio Batista struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Luís Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Forninho. Olívio Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredinho Santana in the 25th minute of the match. José Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Zé Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Veloso having to interfere. If Dênis Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Zé Luz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Veloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredinho Santana in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olívio Carneiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Forninho were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugênio Batista was the one to do the kick off. Zé Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Veloso having to interfere. When Dênis Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Macacu EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dênis Silveira couldn't finish the play. In the 55th minute, Alfredinho Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macacu EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Eugênio Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Forninho's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugênio Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Veloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dênis Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredinho Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Olívio Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olívio Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredinho Santana in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute Alfredinho Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olívio Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alfredinho Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Forninho's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredinho Santana came free, but Olívio Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Dênis Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Luz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Veloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. When Alfredinho Santana fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Macacu EC's protests and gave Alfredinho Santana a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredinho Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
