Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Wilton Schmidt successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 5 minutes into the match, Querera AD's goalkeeper Wilton Schmidt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dênis Silveira. 7 minutes into the match, Querera AD's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredinho Santana came free, but Wilton Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dênis Silveira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Wilton Schmidt skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dênis Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Schmidt having to interfere. Edvaldo Martins hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Rosado in the 16th minute of play forced Macacu EC's goalkeeper Luís Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 played minutes Querera AD got a freekick which was hit by Igor Rocha. If Alfredinho Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Edu Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Querera AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Edu Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Veloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Paulo Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Luís Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, José Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edu Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredinho Santana was the one to do the kick off. Luís Veloso acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Reynaldo Alcântara. If Dênis Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Querera AD's Sílvio Cabral got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Igor Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Wilton Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dênis Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Wilton Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilton Schmidt came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Macacu EC's Alfredinho Santana. But to his dismay, Alfredinho Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 88th match minute, Querera AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Donato to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute of the match Erik do Valle sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilton Schmidt skillfully saved the ball. Querera AD's Wilton Schmidt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredinho Santana in the 95th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
