Ronaldinho Mineiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal de Barros in the 21st minute of play forced city park's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Dênis Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldinho Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of city park booed when Freitas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rony Barbosa hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Ramón Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when José Augusto Bertassi sent off a good shot on target.

Freitas's Rony Barbosa pulled a muscle in his leg after 52 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 52 minutes into the game, Renatinho Valadares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. city park's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Freitas the free kick. A collision led to Freitas getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Juvenal de Barros hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Waldemar Fontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 86 minutes, Faustão Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. city park's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faustão Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Fontes in the 89th minute of play forced Freitas's goalkeeper Ramón Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Freitas's goalkeeper Ramón Catarinense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
