The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dino Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Dias in the 3rd minute. Zé Paulo Guimarães might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui Ceresso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Paulo Guimarães ran back to his position shaking his head. Rui Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Zé Paulo Guimarães left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paulistano Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 38 minutes into the match, Paulistano Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Recife came free, but Dino Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 played minutes Paulistano Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Fantini. In the 66th minute, João Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Recife in the 69th minute of play forced Paulistano Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Dino Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dino Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Dias in the 72nd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the game, Chalana SC's Bebeto Recife nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dino Aguiar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1.
