To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, JUVENTUS F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Guimarães came free, but Luís Fernando Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Zé Paulo Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fernando Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Pombal hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The supporters of JUVENTUS F.C booed when Paulistano Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Doni Luz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dino Aguiar. Paulistano Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doni Luz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Doni Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Aguiar having to interfere. Dino Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renan Urbano in the 25th minute of the match. Zé Paulo Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fernando Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renan Urbano in the 37th minute of play forced Paulistano Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Dino Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dino Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Luz in the 38th minute of the match. Paulistano Futebol Clube's Joaquim Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Renan Urbano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Paulistano Futebol Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. JUVENTUS F.C were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Paulo Guimarães made a kick off. Paulistano Futebol Clube's Dino Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renan Urbano in the 52nd minute of play. Zé Paulo Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Luís Fernando Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doni Luzs short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Dino Aguiar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. JUVENTUS F.C's Luís Fernando Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Guimarães in the 57th minute of play. When Renan Urbano came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the JUVENTUS F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renan Urbano couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Cléber Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doni Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Dino Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
