The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Alan de Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Atlético Americanense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan de Sousa couldn't finish the play. Atlético Americanense's Fabrício Paraense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Americanense from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Fabrício Paraense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Guilherme Silva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fabrício Paraense. Atlético Americanense's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fabrício Paraense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilmar Furlan in the 14th minute of the match. Manfredo Fantini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabrício Paraense made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Isaltino Lopez sent off a good shot on target. After 22nd play minutes Alan de Sousa shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Manfredo Fantini and just under the crossbar into goal. Guilherme Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Atlético Americanense's Virgílio Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manfredo Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Manfredo Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan de Sousa in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan de Sousa made a kick off. Clemente Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Paraense having to interfere. If Isaltino Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nilmar Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Fabrício Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nilmar Furlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Paraense having to interfere. Isaltino Lopez took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabrício Paraense. Fabrício Paraense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Isaltino Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilmar Furlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Paraense having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Nilmar Furlan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabrício Paraense was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Virgílio Arce took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manfredo Fantini. Ibitiuva's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Atlético Americanense's Alan de Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manfredo Fantini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fabrício Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Furlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Americanense's zone, Nilmar Furlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabrício Paraense came out of the goal and Nilmar Furlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94thth minute of the game Isaltino Lopez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Americanense's Fabrício Paraense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Ibitiuva manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Atlético Americanense to win.
