Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Genílson Paranaense took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th minute, Osmar de Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 10th minute, Genílson Paranaense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Porto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 13 minutes, Dênis Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Farol and the Aratu SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Aratu SC's Erivaldo Simões in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Farol's goalie prevented a goal. Farol's Osmar de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 26 minutes into the game, Adhemar Dionísio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Farol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aratu SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Farol's Adhemar Dionísio got a free kick in the 27th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruninho Donatello during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Aratu SC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Bruninho Donatello hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the game, Noel das Neves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Farol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aratu SC the free kick. With a little luck, Farol's Claudinei Bertassi got control of the ball when Gino Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claudinei Bertassi made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Marco Dantas sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Farol were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erivaldo Simões stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Farol's goal looked a bit too open when Erivaldo Simões came free, but Claudinei Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Dantas struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Claudinei Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aratu SC. 57 minutes into the game, Osmar de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. João Porto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 64 played minutes Farol got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Freitas. Marco Dantas might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudinei Bertassi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Dantas ran back to his position shaking his head. Erivaldo Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Ronaldinho Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudinei Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. With a little luck, Aratu SC's João Porto got control of the ball when Osmar de Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. João Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Paranaense in the 74th minute of play. In the 77thth minute of the game Marco Dantas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Farol's Claudinei Bertassi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claudinei Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, Farol's goal looked a bit too open when Erivaldo Simões came free, but Claudinei Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genílson Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. João Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genílson Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Farol's Genílson Paranaense dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Farol eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
