Júnior Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Luís Fábio Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cipriano de Senna hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Paraense in the 9th minute of play forced Mearim AD's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mearim AD's Luís Fábio Leite proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Mearim AD from getting a goal against them. 13 minutes into the match, Tuiti EC's Júnior Paraense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Fábio Leite narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fábio Leite made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Lenílson Pimenta sent off a good shot on target. 23 minutes into the game, Lenílson Pimenta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Luís Fábio Leite was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 27 minutes into the match, Mearim AD's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Paraense came free, but Luís Fábio Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lenílson Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mearim AD booed when Tuiti EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauan da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 34 played minutes Tuiti EC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Augusto Reis. Tuiti EC's Júnior Paraense got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, César Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mearim AD's supporters rose to their feet, but César Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diamantino Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júnior Paraense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. César Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Diamantino Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Júnior Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betão do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Mearim AD's zone, Lenílson Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Leite came out of the goal and Lenílson Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júnior Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Luís Fábio Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramón Recife during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 67th match minute, Tuiti EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramón Recife to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, Tuiti EC's goal looked a bit too open when Betão do Nascimento came free, but Diamantino Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamantino Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão do Nascimento in the 72nd minute of play. Lenílson Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Tuiti EC booed when Mearim AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Tuiti EC's Kauan da Rocha broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 87 minutes, Cipriano de Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mearim AD and the Tuiti EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mearim AD's Luís Fábio Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júnior Paraense in the 88th minute of play. Valério Travassos hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tuiti EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mearim AD had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
