The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan Severo during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Flávio Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Patrick de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho de Sena in the 10th minute of play forced Trombetas FC's goalkeeper Tiago Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ronaldinho de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, José Pedro Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Sabugirana getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Cléber de Queiroz hit a great ball. Tiago Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Cléber de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Miranda having to interfere. Tiago Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute, Arnaldo Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flávio Ceresso made a kick off. Sabugirana's Valério Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sabugirana booed when Trombetas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Trombetas FC's Caetano Teixeira got a free kick in the 56th minute. Ademar Nóbrega didn't quite understand what happened when in the 57 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Cléber de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Trombetas FC's Tiago Miranda got control of the ball when Ronaldinho de Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Trombetas FC's João Francisco Neto got a free kick in the 68th minute. Patrick de Azevedo came out of the goal and Arnaldo Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ronaldinho de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Trombetas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cléber de Queiroz came free, but Tiago Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldinho de Sena got free with Tiago Miranda in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner ended in Ademar Nóbrega almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Trombetas FC's Tiago Miranda did a great save. With splendid footwork Cléber de Queiroz arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-2 by the left pole in the game's 87th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sabugirana had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
