Oscar Alho's Nelson Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Ceresso in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Beto Ceresso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nelson Nunes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Dudu Vieira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nelson Nunes was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Oscar Paraíba came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Oscar Alho's Lauro Matos. But to his dismay, Lauro Matos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Lauro Matos succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 38th playminute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dudu Vieira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Beto Ceresso notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Oscar Alho's Nelson Nunes. Nelson Nunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Reinaldo Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Oscar Alho's goal looked a bit too open when Dudu Vieira came free, but Nelson Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagoberto Chaves's late challenge caught a Saire's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dagoberto Chaves helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd match minute, Oscar Alho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto Chaves to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
