Bernardinho Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the game, José Maria Moura was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carajazinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave pacembu the free kick. After 17 played minutes Carajazinho got a freekick which was hit by José Maria Moura. 19 minutes into the match, Carajazinho's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardinho Baiano came free, but Jano Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gernando Mota breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gernando Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Maria Moura in the 45th minute of the match. After 46 played minutes pacembu got a freekick which was hit by Virgílio Cabral. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Nilson Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Maria Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Maria Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Mota having to interfere. José Maria Moura struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Gernando Mota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carajazinho. In the 67th minute, José Maria Moura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gernando Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. José Maria Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Gernando Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jano Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Davi Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carajazinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. José Maria Moura took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gernando Mota. Gernando Mota dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. José Maria Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Gernando Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Carajazinho booed when pacembu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgílio Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Régis Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gernando Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Carajazinho were the better team. Carajazinho's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
