After 23 minutes, Murillo de Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Turvinia and the Santinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute, Edmundo Loureiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Gustavo Ribeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 邵林梁 in the 40th minute of the match. If Edmundo Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Loureiro was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Edmundo Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turvinia's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Loureiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Gustavo Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Paulinho Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th match minute, Turvinia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 邵林梁 to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Reis in the 70th minute of play forced Turvinia's goalkeeper Frédson Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Turvinia's Frédson Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Braga in the 96th minute of play. Turvinia were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
