Mazinho Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Maribu AD's zone, Eduardo Meira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulisses Peres came out of the goal and Eduardo Meira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the game, Arí Tande cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Luizão Pinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Mazinho Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th match minute, real ipsep was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robinho Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Maribu AD were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

real ipsep's Luizão Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save real ipsep from getting a goal against them. Geovani Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Mazinho Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Peres having to interfere. With a little luck, real ipsep's Luizão Pinho got control of the ball when Arí Tande tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Maribu AD's zone, Elias Ramalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulisses Peres came out of the goal and Elias Ramalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulisses Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Meira in the 72nd minute of the match. Emílio de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arí Tande's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Luizão Pinho firmly grabbed it by the left post. After having played for 80 minutes, Mazinho Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. real ipsep's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mazinho Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Eduardo Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. real ipsep's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulisses Peres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luizão Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio de Almeida in the 87th minute of play.
