Gualter das Neves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 23 minutes into the game, Carlinhos Meira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Gualter das Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jailson Matorin might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gualter das Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jailson Matorin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute Jailson Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st match minute, Pucazeiro SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. A hard and well directed shot from Haroldo Abreu led 32 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Pucazeiro SS's Luiz Eduardo Prata became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-1. Pucazeiro SS's Jailson Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, Pucazeiro SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jailson Matorin to maneuver through the defense. Toninho Paes struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Gualter das Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pucazeiro SS. Pucazeiro SS's Jailson Matorin suffered a sore thigh after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Cacá da Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cacá da Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cacá da Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Percival Catarinense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gualter das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Paes in the 51st minute of play. Gualter das Neves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toninho Paes went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Toninho Paes might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gualter das Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Toninho Paes ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlinhos Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter das Neves having to interfere. After having played for 67 minutes, Adilson Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jovens Promesas fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adilson Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th match minute, Pucazeiro SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. When Adilson Guerra got free in front of the goal in the 69th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Luiz Eduardo Prata was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Percival Catarinense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Eduardo Prata was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. If Nando Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 78th minute Toninho Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 81 minutes, Toninho Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nando Trevisan ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulão Cruz took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gualter das Neves. Gualter das Neves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Gualter das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Toninho Paes scored 5-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gualter das Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pucazeiro SS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
