The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Patrick Ferreira hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Wanderson Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Aírton Marques managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Funilandia EC's Wanderson Pitta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Wanderson Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wanderson Pitta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aírton Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Aírton Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wanderson Pitta in the 18th minute. Enio Terra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Moraes in the 20th minute of the match. Manfredo Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Enio Terra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wanderson Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Tupanci's Mathias Cavalcante got a free kick in the 29th minute. After 35 minutes, Wanderson Pitta made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Tupanci's Aírton Marques tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Anselmo da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aírton Marques was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. With his leg Aírton Marques managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Funilandia EC's Wanderson Pitta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manfredo Abreu to strike the kick off in the second half. Enio Terra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Abreu in the 52nd minute of play. Dagoberto Moraes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Enio Terra made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Tupanci's Edmílson Magalhães got a free kick in the 56th minute. Aírton Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo da Fonseca in the 57th minute of the match. When Funilandia EC's Anselmo da Fonseca in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Murilo Trevisan fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Funilandia EC's protests and gave Murilo Trevisan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tupanci booed when Funilandia EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Trevisan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Tupanci's Dagoberto Moraes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enio Terra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Funilandia EC had won after a very even match.
