If Afonsinho Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomás Ramalho made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Leonel Pinheiro sent off a good shot on target. After 21 minutes, Michel Guedes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monjolos and the Marco Véio FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes Monjolos got a freekick which was hit by Michel Guedes. If Vítor Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Leonel Pinheiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomás Ramalho. Marco Véio FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonel Pinheiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 35th minute Sidnei Neto suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of Monjolos booed when Marco Véio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wanderson Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonsinho Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. A collision led to Monjolos getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Michel Guedes hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonsinho Fernandez to make the kick off. In the 56th minute Vítor Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wanderson Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Marco Véio FC's Afonsinho Fernandez in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Erasmo Marinho charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erasmo Marinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erasmo Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Yan Sena struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Wanderson Loureiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marco Véio FC. Wanderson Loureiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Afonsinho Fernandez in the 79th minute. Thomás Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Pinheiro in the 82nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Erasmo Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monjolos's supporters rose to their feet, but Erasmo Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Ramalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonel Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Thomás Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonel Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Monjolos support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
