Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luiz Guilherme Esteves started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Azevedo in the 3rd minute of play forced Gafanhoto's goalkeeper Cássio Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 6 minutes, Guga Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capuaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guga Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Hudson Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gafanhoto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capuaba the free kick. In the 8th match minute, Gafanhoto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hudson Torres to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Capuaba getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Romeu Britto hit a great ball. After 11 played minutes, Gafanhoto's Álvaro Velloso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edvaldo Dante came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gafanhoto reached it. Edvaldo Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Palmeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute Guga Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guga Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Cássio Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Salgado in the 25th minute of play forced Capuaba's goalkeeper Edvaldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes Gafanhoto got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Salgado. 30 minutes into the match, Filipe Salgado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edvaldo Dante. Capuaba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filipe Salgado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Gonçalo Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guga Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Romeu Britto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capuaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gafanhoto the free kick. In the 42nd match minute, Capuaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Britto to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute of the match Álvaro Velloso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edvaldo Dante skillfully saved the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Capuaba's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Salgado came free, but Edvaldo Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Capuaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osmar Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guga Moura made a kick off. If Guga Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 55 minutes on the clock, Osmar Rocha commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Capuaba! During the 62nd minute of the match Hudson Torres completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hudson Torres a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 63 played minutes Gafanhoto got a freekick which was hit by Hudson Torres. In the 71st minute of the match, Vladimir Palmeira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edvaldo Dante was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Velasco in the 78th minute of play forced Capuaba's goalkeeper Edvaldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Gafanhoto's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Dante came free, but Cássio Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Angelo Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute Armando Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimir Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Dante having to interfere. If Vladimir Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gafanhoto were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Capuaba's much stronger midfield.
