When Valdo Seco fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maracacume EC's protests and gave Valdo Seco a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Maracacume EC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Valdo Seco hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Valle in the 22nd minute of play forced Maracacume EC's goalkeeper Dé Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Leonel Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé Quaresma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Agostinho Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Affua's supporters rose to their feet, but Agostinho Vander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dé Quaresma breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute, Leonel Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dé Quaresma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Luiz Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Chiquinho Vasconcelos scored 2-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudinho Meireles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Maracacume EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Affua had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
