Carlos Alberto Carioca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Renato Teles made a huge save. In the 11th match minute, Last Dogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Madureira to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldinho Baiano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 15th minute Luiz Eduardo Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Egídio Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Vencaia SC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Murilo Xavier hit a great ball. In the last second Renato Teles throw himself and got hold of the ball when Murilo Xavier in the 25thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 26th minute, Murilo Xavier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Lara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Eduardo Sarmento's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Romário Alvarenga made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 30thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Renato Teles would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 37th minute, Hermínio Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conrado Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Last Dogs booed when Vencaia SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Vencaia SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Varela to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romário Alvarenga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vencaia SC's attentive Conrado Varela managed to snatch the ball when Gláuber Braga made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. Ronaldinho Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Renato Teles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Murilo Xavier's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Renato Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Baiano in the 61st minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Last Dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Carioca came free, but Renato Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes Last Dogs got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Madureira. In the 74th minute, Ronaldinho Baiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Romário Alvarenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renato Teles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Renato Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Olívio Ferreira struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Renato Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vencaia SC. Conrado Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romário Alvarenga in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Teles saved Last Dogs from getting behind. In the 90th minute Romário Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th match minute, Vencaia SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio Vieira to maneuver through the defense.
