In the 12th minute, Wiliam Pinheiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Frank Lara, passed just outside the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Osvaldo Macedo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frank Lara. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. Romário Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Vencaia SC booed when Atlético Campoverdense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético Campoverdense's Augustinus Hjære played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Baiano in the 23rd minute of play. Frank Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Macedo in the 24th minute of the match. Frank Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Macedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Osvaldo Macedo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 27th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Frank Lara successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 31st match minute, Atlético Campoverdense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Pinho to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Osvaldo Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Romário Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustinus Hjære having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romário Alvarenga in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augustinus Hjære prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Alvarenga in the 45th minute of play forced Atlético Campoverdense's goalkeeper Augustinus Hjære to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wiliam Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Augustinus Hjære made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Murilo Xavier sent off a good shot on target. 54 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Macedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Frank Lara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Osvaldo Macedo struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Frank Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Campoverdense. Frank Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edinho de Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64thth minute of the game Murilo Xavier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Campoverdense's Augustinus Hjære was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wiliam Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Lara having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Vencaia SC's Romário Alvarenga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Augustinus Hjære. That made the score 2-1 after 69 minutes of play. Ronaldinho Baiano's late challenge caught a Atlético Campoverdense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldinho Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd minute, Ronaldinho Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romário Alvarengas short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Augustinus Hjære to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Romário Alvarenga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Augustinus Hjære skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 79 played minutes Atlético Campoverdense got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Lira. After 84 played minutes Vencaia SC got a freekick which was hit by Tony Miranda. 86 minutes into the match, Vencaia SC's goal looked a bit too open when André Luís Catarinense came free, but Frank Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 played minutes Vencaia SC got a freekick which was hit by Tony Miranda. In the 95th minute Wiliam Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Campoverdense's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
