Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Valério Silveira started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Oxford booed when União Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matheus Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Penha in the 13th minute of play forced União Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Edinho Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, Moisés Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edinho Maia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valério Silveira in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edinho Maia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edinho Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés Penha in the 19th minute of play. When Oxford's Valério Silveira in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye União Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal. Moisés Penha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edinho Maia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, União Esporte Clube's Giovani Viana got a free kick in the 28th minute. Luiz Fabiano Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geovânio Severo in the 30th minute. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Joel Favoretto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 39th minute of the match Deivid Dracena sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edinho Maia skillfully saved the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Valério Silveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edinho Maia. União Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valério Silveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovânio Severo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edinho Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valério Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to União Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Valdo Zanette hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Moisés Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oxford's supporters rose to their feet, but Moisés Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edinho Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 66 played minutes União Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Joel Favoretto. Geovânio Severo scored 1-4 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Fabiano Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute, União Esporte Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Valério Silveira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to União Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Laércio Madureira hit a great ball. Valério Silveira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Oxford's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. União Esporte Clube's Edinho Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Silveira in the 86th minute of play. Valério Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Edinho Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moisés Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, União Esporte Clube's Valdo Zanette got a free kick in the 90th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Edinho Maia successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 95 minutes into the match, Moisés Penha notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of União Esporte Clube's Edinho Maia. Edinho Maia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Oxford supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Oxford would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
