Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gilmar Perez started the match with the kick off. Artur Madureira struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Eliézer Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canca. Artur Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gildo Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Montenegro in the 10th minute of play. Gilmar Perez's late challenge caught a Canca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilmar Perez helped the player get up and apologised. After 11 played minutes Tocantinea got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Perez. 14 minutes into the game, Tocantinea's Ernesto Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gildo Netto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Walmyr Correia kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Ernesto Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gildo Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Canca's Gildo Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fellipe Vinhas in the 27th minute of play. Eliézer Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Madureira in the 31st minute of the match. Gildo Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fellipe Vinhas in the 33rd minute of play. Gildo Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Perez in the 38th minute of play forced Canca's goalkeeper Gildo Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Ernesto Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Vander's late challenge caught a Canca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Vander helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Canca booed when Tocantinea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 minutes, Walmyr Correia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canca and the Tocantinea players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Canca getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Walmyr Correia hit a great ball.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Artur Madureira made a kick off. If Fellipe Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fellipe Vinhas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gildo Netto made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Tocantinea's Gildo Netto threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ernesto Montenegro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gildo Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilmar Perez in the 57th minute of play. Gildo Netto was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Bruno Vander capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bruno Vander really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. 75 minutes into the match, Canca's goalkeeper Gildo Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fellipe Vinhas. During the 80th minute of the match Gilmar Perez completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gilmar Perez a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gilmar Perez hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Artur Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliézer Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Artur Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Tocantinea supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tocantinea would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
