Gilvan Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raí Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Otávio Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Palmeira in the 13th minute of the match. Sydney Furlan's late challenge caught a Limeirinha FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sydney Furlan helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes Cajapio EC got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Furlan. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raí Peixoto in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilvan Penha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Márcio Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. If Leonel Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute Leonel Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Márcio Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonel Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Medeiros having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Giovanni Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cajapio EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovanni Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otávio Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cajapio EC's zone, Frederico Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilvan Penha came out of the goal and Frederico Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Cajapio EC booed when Limeirinha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Limeirinha FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Cajapio EC's Luís Fábio Marques got a free kick in the 94th minute. With a little luck, Cajapio EC's Gilvan Penha got control of the ball when Raí Peixoto tried to sneak it across the goal line.
