In the 2nd minute, Hélder Ribeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gongogi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After having played for 6 minutes, Silvinho Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gongogi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvinho Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silvinho Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gongogi's zone, Belmiro Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Barbosa came out of the goal and Belmiro Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Correia in the 14th minute of play forced Gongogi's goalkeeper Sílvio Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 minutes of play, Oiticica FC's Belmiro Lopes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sílvio Barbosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Belmiro Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oiticica FC's Silvério Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho Soares in the 32nd minute of play. Sílvio Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Belmiro Lopes went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 44th match minute, Oiticica FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Vânderson Amorim sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Oiticica FC's Silvério Vale didn't even have to move. The Gongogi players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Oiticica FC were winning 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvinho Soares was the one to do the kick off. Belmiro Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Sílvio Barbosa made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Gongogi's zone, Belmiro Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Barbosa came out of the goal and Belmiro Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Belmiro Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Correia in the 75th minute of play forced Gongogi's goalkeeper Sílvio Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gongogi booed when Oiticica FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavinho Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvério Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vânderson Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the game, Gongogi's Silvinho Soares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvério Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. After 86 played minutes, Oiticica FC's Rubens Botelho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sílvio Barbosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oiticica FC reached it. After 88 played minutes, Oiticica FC's Rubens Botelho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sílvio Barbosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oiticica FC reached it. Sílvio Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Lopes in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Gongogi getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Hélder Ribeiro hit a great ball. Belmiro Correia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 97thth minute tested the skills of Sílvio Barbosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Oiticica FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
