Ipojuca EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ipojuca EC's Ismael Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Catarinense in the 9th minute of play. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rubens Catarinense sped through Ipojuca EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ismael Senna. 13 minutes into the match, Pachecao EC's goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Brasil came free, but Ismael Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ipojuca EC's Otávio Brasil got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrão Simões in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ismael Viana saved Pachecao EC from getting behind. Otávio Brasil struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Ismael Viana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipojuca EC. If Pedrão Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otávio Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Viana having to interfere. The supporters of Ipojuca EC booed when Pachecao EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cafu Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Otávio Brasil got free with Ismael Viana in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pachecao EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubens Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ismael Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Pedrão Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pedrão Simões came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Ipojuca EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Simões couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
