Campolide's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SHAKHTAR DONETSK the free kick. After 3 played minutes Campolide got a freekick which was hit by Silvinho Vidal. After recieving a nice pass, SHAKHTAR DONETSK's Marian Boruta tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind SHAKHTAR DONETSK's goalkeeper Rudolf Middel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SHAKHTAR DONETSK! Umberto Marquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rudolf Middel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind SHAKHTAR DONETSK's goalkeeper Rudolf Middel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Umberto Marquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudolf Middel having to make a save. Nando de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Boruta, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Campolide's Silvinho Vidal got his second yellow card of the match in the 39th minute. The referee ordered Silvinho Vidal off the ground. In the 39th match minute, Campolide was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvinho Vidal to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedrão Monteiro made a kick off. If Frederico Faustino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Maia hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Campolide's Umberto Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enéas Monteiro's late challenge caught a Campolide's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enéas Monteiro helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SHAKHTAR DONETSK getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Enéas Monteiro hit a great ball. When Ronaldo Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Campolide's protests and gave Ronaldo Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Ronaldo Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Umberto Marquez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 81 minutes into the match, Campolide's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo de Azevedo came free, but Nando de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Umberto Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Umberto Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Campolide fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umberto Marquez couldn't finish the play. Umberto Marquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Rudolf Middel made a huge save. Umberto Marquez struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Rudolf Middel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campolide. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Campolide had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
