Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markus Rotinsulu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zaki Rakasiwi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Black Dragon FC's Zaki Rakasiwi. But to his dismay, Zaki Rakasiwi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zaki Rakasiwi to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Handoko Irianto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Black Dragon FC and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Black Dragon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Handoko Irianto to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Black Dragon FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexander Carballo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rama Sudaryanto. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Zaki Rakasiwi struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Dragon FC. In the 87th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute Zaki Rakasiwi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Markus Rotinsulu got free with Benito Sanz in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th match minute, Black Dragon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rama Irsyad to maneuver through the defense.
