Joel de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Bittencourt having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Leonardo Leão notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Guaramano's Júnior Velloso. Júnior Velloso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 29th minute Jacinto Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Joel de Barros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guaramano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jacinto Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Bittencourt having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Acácio Barreto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guaramano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alegres SC the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Guaramano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Acácio Barreto to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Guaramano's zone, Leonardo Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júnior Velloso came out of the goal and Leonardo Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacinto Pontes made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Jacinto Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guaramano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Pontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th minute, Joel de Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Alegres SC's Edson Gaspar got a free kick in the 56th minute. After 58th play minutes Joel de Barros shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Carlos Bittencourt and just under the crossbar into goal. After 62 minutes, Edson Gaspar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alegres SC and the Guaramano players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Edson Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Pontes's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Joel de Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Bittencourt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Guaramano's goalkeeper Júnior Velloso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sabino Rocha. When Giuseppe Barreto fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alegres SC's protests and gave Giuseppe Barreto a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Alegres SC got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Barreto. Carlos Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Guilherme Branco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 97th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Alegres SC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Guaramano had controlled the match.
