Marcus Torres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toninho Matorin's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After a defensive mix-up in League of Legends's zone, Hermínio Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizão Custódio came out of the goal and Hermínio Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cássio Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Custódio having to interfere. After having played for 19 minutes, Magno de Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. League of Legends's supporters crossed their fingers, but Magno de Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind AAAEC's goalkeeper Marcus Torres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermínio Mota in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luizão Custódio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cássio Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Custódio having to interfere. The supporters of AAAEC booed when League of Legends was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Cássio Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. AAAEC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cássio Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luizão Custódio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AAAEC's Marcus Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Matorin in the 38th minute of play. Cássio Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermínio Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, League of Legends's goalkeeper Luizão Custódio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Baiano. League of Legends's Luizão Custódio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save League of Legends from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, League of Legends's Luizão Custódio got control of the ball when Cássio Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hermínio Mota was the one to do the kick off.
