In the 19th minute Franklin de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cangalhas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Elari Elts scored to the left of an out of position Claudinei Garcia, making the score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Marquinhos Oliveira got a free kick in the 27th minute. Humberto Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin de Amaral in the 31st minute of the match. Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Humberto Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Schmidt in the 32nd minute of play. Haroldo Reis's late challenge caught a Cangalhas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Haroldo Reis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, Shutetsu Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Reis to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto Schmidt was the one to do the kick off. Hugo Gudmundsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Garcia having to interfere. Claudinei Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Gudmundsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Elari Elts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 minutes of play, Shutetsu Futebol Clube's Haroldo Reis made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinei Garcia was left in no man's land by his defense there! With 74 minutes on the clock, Emerson Mandrak commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Emerson Mandrak kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Cangalhas's Emanuel Cunha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Humberto Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Cangalhas getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Emanuel Cunha hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cangalhas's zone, Marquinhos Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Garcia came out of the goal and Marquinhos Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Cangalhas's Edson Almeida got a free kick in the 86th minute. Diego Maradona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Claudinei Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cangalhas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Shutetsu Futebol Clube.
