Novaes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Silva Matador Futebol the free kick. Dadá Novaes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vito Arósio. Silva Matador Futebol's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Silva Matador Futebol's zone, Leonardo Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vito Arósio came out of the goal and Leonardo Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amílton Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Leonardo Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Vito Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Novaes's Elivélton Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute Edmundo Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Novaes's Remo Cunha got control of the ball when Denílson Sanches tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Denílson Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Silva Matador Futebol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denílson Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmundo Marques struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Remo Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Silva Matador Futebol. In the 44th match minute, Novaes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inácio Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Novaes's goalkeeper Remo Cunha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 47 in the game by Denílson Sanches from a close distance when the talented Remo Cunha managed to make a qualified save. Novaes's players were relieved. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Leonardo Rezende made the kick off in the second half. Denílson Sanches recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Novaes getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Guilherme Brito hit a great ball. Denílson Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Remo Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vito Arósio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elivélton Guimarães in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Elivélton Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Novaes's supporters rose to their feet, but Elivélton Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vito Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Rezende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elivélton Guimarães who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Vito Arósio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Edmundo Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Guilherme Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 85th minute Leonardo Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Leonardo Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Novaes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonardo Rezende couldn't finish the play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
