Cipriano Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cipriano Cabral was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Acácio Veiga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Acácio Veiga really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Mauro Varela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cipriano Cabral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Varela in the 48th minute of play forced chelcstan's goalkeeper Cipriano Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauro Varela to make the kick off. Acácio Veiga's late challenge caught a chelcstan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Acácio Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of chelcstan booed when Maquine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nico Paranaense was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Luiz Guilherme Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Catarinense having to interfere. chelcstan's Cipriano Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Varela in the 60th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, chelcstan's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fábio Linhares came free, but Cipriano Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauro Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Cipriano Cabral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
