CUBITAN EC's João Paulo Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronaldinho Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kiko Carvalho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nilmar Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Cléber de Mendonça notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of CUBITAN EC's Téo Paranaense. Téo Paranaense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Matela getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Dudu Simões hit a great ball. Cléber de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Téo Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, CUBITAN EC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Passos came free, but Téo Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Passos in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Téo Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 41 minutes into the match, Cléber de Mendonça had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Téo Paranaense. CUBITAN EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cléber de Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Téo Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronaldinho Passos to make the kick off. Silvinho Pontes struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Nilmar Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CUBITAN EC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Gaspar in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilmar Toscano saved Matela from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Matela's Doni Travassos got a free kick in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the game, CUBITAN EC's Kiko Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilmar Toscano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. João Paulo Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After 78 played minutes CUBITAN EC got a freekick which was hit by Cauã Lopes. In the 80th minute, Ronaldinho Passos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Téo Paranaense. The goal made the score 1-3. 85 minutes in the game, Ronaldinho Passos fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Téo Paranaense having to interfere. Téo Paranaense made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Doni Travassos sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 92 minutes, Telmo Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CUBITAN EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Telmo Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94th minute Silvinho Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilmar Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
