Artur Vianna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ademir de Medeiros went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Luís Fábio Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Buique's Edmundo Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Angaturama's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Alvarenga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Juvenal da Costa fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Angaturama's protests and gave Juvenal da Costa a yellow card for diving instead. Juvenal da Costa hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Buique's Claudinei Prata tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Igor Corrêa, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 31 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Artur Vianna was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Artur Vianna was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Igor Corrêa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. Artur Vianna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Igor Corrêa went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Buique's Artur Vianna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Buique from getting a goal against them. If Edmundo Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Carlos Vides made the kick off in the second half. If Edmundo Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Corrêa scored 4-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Artur Vianna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 4-1 became the score in the 60th minute when Edmundo Senna elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Edmundo Senna notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Angaturama's Luís Fábio Alvarenga. Luís Fábio Alvarenga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 70 played minutes Angaturama got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Brito. Claudinei Prata was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Carlos Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmundo Senna made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 78thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Luís Fábio Alvarenga would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Angaturama! Luís Fábio Alvarenga had in the 83rdth minute some difficulties stopping Claudinei Prata's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Carlos Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Angaturama's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Vides came free, but Luís Fábio Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmundo Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Luís Fábio Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edmundo Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Vides in the 97th minute of play forced Angaturama's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Angaturama players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
