Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Pedro Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Albertinho Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Flamengo Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas de Queirós came free, but Vitinho de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Elias da Mata came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Flamengo Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias da Mata couldn't finish the play. Albertinho Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Pedro Pimenta in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Araguana EC booed when Flamengo Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Araguana EC's zone, Zé Pedro Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albertinho Leal came out of the goal and Zé Pedro Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 17 played minutes Araguana EC got a freekick which was hit by Durvalino Teles. Albertinho Leal came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Flamengo Esporte Clube's Elias da Mata. But to his dismay, Elias da Mata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vitinho de Souza made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Rodolfo Xavier sent off a good shot on target. Araguana EC's Albertinho Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias da Mata in the 23rd minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Flamengo Esporte Clube's Téo Guerra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albertinho Leal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 33 minutes, Zé Pedro Pimenta made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Araguana EC's Albertinho Leal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Albertinho Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Sá in the 37th minute of play. Zé Pedro Pimenta struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Albertinho Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flamengo Esporte Clube. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas de Queirós in the 42nd minute of play forced Flamengo Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Vitinho de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flamengo Esporte Clube's Vitinho de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas de Queirós in the 44th minute of play. Vitinho de Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Correia in the 46th minute. After a rather tough play, Flamengo Esporte Clube's Luiz Sá got a free kick in the 46th minute. After 48 played minutes, Araguana EC's Telmo de Queirós shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vitinho de Souza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Araguana EC reached it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Pedro Pimenta was the one to do the kick off. Albertinho Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 56th minute Rodolfo Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute of the match Waldemar Carioca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vitinho de Souza skillfully saved the ball. In the 60th minute, Flamengo Esporte Clube's Gino Paraense seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gino Paraense the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Flamengo Esporte Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gino Paraense had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Flamengo Esporte Clube! Waldemar Carioca shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Durvalino Teles's late challenge caught a Flamengo Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durvalino Teles helped the player get up and apologised. Durvalino Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas de Queirós in the 67th minute of play forced Flamengo Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Vitinho de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Waldemar Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Téo Guerra in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertinho Leal saved Araguana EC from getting behind. Téo Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 76 minutes, Durvalino Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Araguana EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durvalino Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Araguana EC booed when Flamengo Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Vitinho de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After 93 minutes, Nildo Nogueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flamengo Esporte Clube and the Araguana EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Flamengo Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Nogueira. In the 95th minute Lucas de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Flamengo Esporte Clube eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
