Edson Silveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marquinhos de Medeiros having to make a save. In the 4th minute, Edson Silveira made a precise shot to the right of Marquinhos de Medeiros. Assuncao SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Paraense in the 8th minute of play forced Assuncao SS's goalkeeper Marquinhos de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Edson Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capatara AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Edson Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marquinhos de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mauro Paraense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Marquinhos de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edson Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marquinhos de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marquinhos de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Capatara AD's Mauro Paraense. But to his dismay, Mauro Paraense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The supporters of Capatara AD booed when Assuncao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Capatara AD's Cido Lucas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Capatara AD from getting a goal against them. Marquinhos de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Assuncao SS defense, Edson Silveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marquinhos de Medeiros. The Assuncao SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marquinhos de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. Marquinhos de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Paraense in the 43rd minute of play forced Assuncao SS's goalkeeper Marquinhos de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Mauro Paraense notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Assuncao SS's Marquinhos de Medeiros. Marquinhos de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lenílson Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. Fabrício Tepedino hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Mauro Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Joaquim Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cido Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edson Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Marquinhos de Medeiros made a huge save. Joaquim Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cido Lucas having to interfere. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Assuncao SS's goalkeeper Marquinhos de Medeiros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, Capatara AD's Flavinho Souza broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Mauro Paraense succeeded in the game's 82nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-6. Marquinhos de Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauro Paraense's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. After 88 played minutes Assuncao SS got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Arósio. 89 minutes in the game, Edson Silveira dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 98 minutes into the game, Lenílson Gaúcho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Cido Lucas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle sounded Capatara AD left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Assuncao SS.
