Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Wilson Veiga took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Aripibu's zone, Cipriano Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erasmo Braga came out of the goal and Cipriano Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 6 minutes into the game, Cipriano Teixeira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Erasmo Braga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reynaldo Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tales Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute of the game, Claudinei Torres landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Cipriano Teixeira charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cipriano Teixeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cipriano Teixeira hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Reynaldo Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. If Digo Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Digo Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Braga having to interfere. After having played for 28 minutes, Wilson Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Criciuma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilson Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Criciuma's Erivaldo Motta shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Erasmo Braga but with some difficulty. 37 minutes in the game, Wilson Veiga fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Erasmo Braga having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Vivaldo Camargo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Criciuma defense, Noel Luz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Jacinto. The Criciuma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Jacinto should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Noel Luz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tales Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Criciuma's Cauan Gaspar got a free kick in the 59th minute. Wilson Veiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erasmo Braga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilson Veiga ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Wilson Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Criciuma's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilson Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erasmo Braga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Aripibu getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Vivaldo Camargo hit a great ball. In the 79th minute of the match, Washington Brito sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Erasmo Braga showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Erasmo Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Digo Fontes in the 88th minute of the match. Wilson Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Erasmo Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wilson Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Criciuma failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
