In the 7th minute of the match Thomás Favoretto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcel Araújo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Pombal FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Kléber Seco hit a great ball. In the 14th match minute, Pombal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Vítor Dante to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Chicão Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Pombal FC's zone, Duarte Prestes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Araújo came out of the goal and Duarte Prestes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcel Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Prestes in the 23rd minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Pombal FC got a freekick which was hit by Elano Albuquerque. Breno Soares succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Kléber Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Rocha having to interfere. Duarte Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Araújo having to interfere. Samuca Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano Albuquerque in the 40th minute of play. Marcel Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorival Vander in the 42nd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Breno Soares to make the kick off. Dorival Vander took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcel Araújo. Pombal FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Breno Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 74 minutes of play, Pombal FC's Kléber Seco made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuca Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pombal FC's Marcel Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Soares in the 84th minute of play. Chicão Nogueira hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. When Breno Soares came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Juvi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breno Soares couldn't finish the play. Chicão Nogueira's late challenge caught a Juvi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chicão Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. Kléberson Corrêa charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kléberson Corrêa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 91 minutes into the game, one of Juvi:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Pombal FC. Elano Albuquerque stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Samuca Rocha. 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Juvi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pombal FC.
