The referee ignored Negao EC's protests and gave Oscar Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. When Ademir Pereira in the 48th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Marcos Cabral kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Marcos Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yan Catarinense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natanael Paulista's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 91st minute of the match, Natanael Paulista tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Yan Catarinense saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Orlando Luz during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Arcoverde SC's Orlando Luz got a free kick in the 92nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ramiro Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arcoverde SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramiro Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Negao EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Arcoverde SC.
