Vladimir Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vladimir Fernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vladimir Fernandez hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. A hard shot 9 in the game by Zé Paulo Cosme from a close distance when the talented Dário Sarmento managed to make a qualified save. Pongai's players were relieved. Humberto Simões charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Simões the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Humberto Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladimir Fernandez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Marcinho Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Dário Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Gracismoes SS's Marcinho Gonçalves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dário Sarmento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 21 minutes, Moisés Vergílio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pongai and the Gracismoes SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Jorge Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Paulo Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Sarmento having to interfere. Zé Paulo Cosme who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Dário Sarmento when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Belmiro Vander hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcinho Gonçalves in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dário Sarmento saved Pongai from getting behind. Belmiro Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ulysses Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gracismoes SS's Marcinho Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Paulo Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcinho Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Gracismoes SS's Marcinho Gonçalves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dário Sarmento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Santana made a kick off. Dário Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gilberto Loureiro came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Pongai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Loureiro couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Gilberto Loureiro made a precise shot to the right of Ulysses Soeiro. Gracismoes SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Gilberto Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dorival Neiva charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorival Neiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gracismoes SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Pongai. Vladimir Fernandez stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ulysses Soeiro. 0-2. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pongai's goalkeeper Dário Sarmento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. During the 84th minute of the match Humberto Simões completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Humberto Simões a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Pongai booed when Gracismoes SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th match minute, Pongai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Pitta to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Gracismoes SS's Ulysses Soeiro got control of the ball when Gilberto Loureiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th minute Jorge Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Loureiro in the 98thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ulysses Soeiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Pongai walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
