Luisinho Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho da Silva having to interfere. Víktor Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Víktor Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Luisinho Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Neiva in the 18th minute of play forced Jococa's goalkeeper Marcinho da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Matorin charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cláudio Matorin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Adalberto Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Neiva in the 27th minute of play forced Jococa's goalkeeper Marcinho da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Delfim Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delfim Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Pombal in the 42nd minute of the match. If Adalberto Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adalberto Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Alves having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luisinho Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Itapoan FC's Delfim Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Pombal in the 56th minute of play. Marcinho da Silva came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Itapoan FC's Víktor Neiva. But to his dismay, Víktor Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Delfim Alves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerson Abraão's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. 74 minutes into the game, Jococa's Gerson Abraão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Delfim Alves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Delfim Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson Abraão in the 79th minute of play. Adalberto Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Itapoan FC's Cláudio Matorin got a free kick in the 87th minute. 94 minutes into the match, Jococa's goal looked a bit too open when Luisinho Queirós came free, but Marcinho da Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
