Marazinho SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tião de Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Reginaldo Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião de Barros in the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th minute Tião de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, Augusto Paraibano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marazinho SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sampaio Sport Clube the free kick. In the 86th minute, Augusto Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Michel Vasconcelos sped through Marazinho SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reginaldo Pinheiro.
