Narciso Garcia lost his temper 8 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pluto Futebol Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! After a rather tough play, VilaNovaFC's Waldemar Pirani got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 16th match minute, VilaNovaFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar de Salles to maneuver through the defense. VilaNovaFC's Vinícius Magalhães suffered a sore thigh after 24 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Sydney Valle fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pluto Futebol Clube's protests and gave Sydney Valle a yellow card for diving instead. Pluto Futebol Clube's Lino Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Pirani in the 26th minute of play. Andrézinho Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Pluto Futebol Clube's Rogério Leão slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Durvalino Ribeiro. That made the score 2-0 after 31 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Pluto Futebol Clube's Amadeu de Senna got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Pluto Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Pirani came free, but Lino Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fernando Sá hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.
After having played for 54 minutes, Rogério Leão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pluto Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogério Leão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Pluto Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Pirani came free, but Lino Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rogério Leão came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Pluto Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogério Leão couldn't finish the play. Durvalino Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Leão in the 61st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Andrézinho Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pluto Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrézinho Moreno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durvalino Ribeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th match minute, VilaNovaFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Ramón Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Waldemar Pirani fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 85 minutes into the match, VilaNovaFC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Moreno came free, but Durvalino Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pluto Futebol Clube's Rogério Leão got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andrézinho Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogério Leão might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durvalino Ribeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rogério Leão ran back to his position shaking his head. Andrézinho Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Victor Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pluto Futebol Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
