Ipiabas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pastinha SC the free kick. André Luiz de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Paraibano having to interfere. André Luiz de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonsinho Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson Loyola having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Glauco Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgílio Paraibano was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Glauco Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgílio Paraibano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After 35 minutes of play, Ipiabas's André Luiz de Mendonça made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgílio Paraibano was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Glauco Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgílio Paraibano was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. 46 minutes into the match, Ipiabas's André Luiz de Mendonça sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Virgílio Paraibano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonsinho Trancoso was the one to do the kick off. Virgílio Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glauco Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Pastinha SC's Afonsinho Trancoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denílson Loyola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 66 minutes of play Ipiabas's André Luiz de Mendonça was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Pastinha SC booed when Ipiabas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luiz de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Glauco Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgílio Paraibano was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Isaltino Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Mazinho Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pastinha SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mazinho Cosme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denílson Loyola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th match minute, Ipiabas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Britto to maneuver through the defense. Afonsinho Trancoso struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Denílson Loyola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pastinha SC. After a rather tough play, Ipiabas's Tarcisio Bueno got a free kick in the 81st minute. Glauco Matos scored 2-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgílio Paraibano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ipiabas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
