After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Anderson Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mostarda's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afonso Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugênio Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robinho Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. If Maurinho de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Estrela Azul's Afonso Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Tavares in the 13th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Eugênio Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mostarda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugênio Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Anderson Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anderson Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Afonso Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 26 minutes, Anderson Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mostarda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anderson Tavares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugênio Torres struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Afonso Vergílio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mostarda. With his leg Nelson de Carvalho managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Estrela Azul's Robinho Madureira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Afonso Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugênio Torres in the 35th minute of play. Eugênio Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Vergílio having to interfere. In the 44th match minute, Estrela Azul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eugênio Torres made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Torres in the 56th minute of play forced Estrela Azul's goalkeeper Afonso Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurinho de Queiroz hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maurinho de Queiroz during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nelson de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Anderson Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 87 minutes into the match, Estrela Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Eugênio Torres came free, but Afonso Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulisses Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Afonso Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anderson Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Afonso Vergílio made a huge save. After taking down the ball on Mostarda's corner Cléberson Bezerra fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Afonso Vergílio quite easily take care of the ball. Estrela Azul succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mostarda had controlled the match.
