The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aleandro Félix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donato Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Lino Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tostão Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Trigo in the 12th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Leopoldo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Cosme might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lino Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donato Cosme ran back to his position shaking his head. 26 minutes into the game, Freguezia's Leopoldo Martins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lino Mazza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Aleandro Félix struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Tostão Perez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pobre AD. After a rather tough play, Freguezia's Geovanni Montenegro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Pobre AD getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Patrício Santana hit a great ball. If Amauri Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Geovanni Montenegro charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovanni Montenegro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes Freguezia got a freekick which was hit by Geovanni Montenegro. The audience was convinced that Arí Trigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tostão Perez was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Martins in the 59th minute of play forced Pobre AD's goalkeeper Lino Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Amauri Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 played minutes, Pobre AD's Patrício Santana shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tostão Perez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pobre AD reached it. Aleandro Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão Perez having to interfere. Leopoldo Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Lino Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lino Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Freguezia's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
