Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Moisés Leite took the kick off in the first half of the match. Álvaro Messias might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulão Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Álvaro Messias ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulão Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Umberto Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26thth minute of the game Joaquim Alvarenga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ituiutaba's Paulão Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 30 minutes, Luiz Paulo Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ituiutaba and the Pitangui Sport Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Pitangui Sport Club booed when Ituiutaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Barbosa hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. When Pitangui Sport Club's Álvaro Messias in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ituiutaba's goalie prevented a goal. Umberto Eger took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulão Amorim. Paulão Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 45th minute Umberto Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Álvaro Messias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulão Amorim was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Álvaro Messias to strike the kick off in the second half. Moisés Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moisés Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Simão having to interfere. Guto Simão came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Ituiutaba's Allan Eger. But to his dismay, Allan Eger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 64th minute, Basílio Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moisés Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Simão having to interfere. Umberto Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Moisés Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulão Amorim didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Alvarenga during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Pitangui Sport Club getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Joaquim Alvarenga hit a great ball. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ituiutaba! Umberto Eger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Paulão Amorim made a huge save. If Umberto Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Álvaro Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Pitangui Sport Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pitangui Sport Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
