The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldão Lopes got free with Vladimir Fonseca in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vladimir Fonseca made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Ronaldão Lopes sent off a good shot on target. Maracaju E.C were furious when Rodolfo Costa was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 24 minutes into the game, one of Maracaju E.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Felipe a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Diogo Simões, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Maracaju E.C's Paulão Salgado. 0-1. Aírton Massa charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aírton Massa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Maracaju E.C getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Paulão Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murillo Cunha in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Maracaju E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Murillo Cunha came free, but Paulão Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Maracaju E.C's Ronaldão Lopes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladimir Fonseca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vladimir Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldão Lopes in the 37th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldão Lopes was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kauã Galvão during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kauã Galvão hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 60 minutes of play, Felipe's Vitinho Breckenfeld made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulão Salgado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulão Salgado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pedrinho Dias showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 66 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Murillo Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Felipe's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 72 played minutes Maracaju E.C got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldão Lopes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedrinho Dias in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulão Salgado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Murillo Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Felipe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murillo Cunha couldn't finish the play. Claudinho Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedrinho Dias got free with Paulão Salgado in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Maracaju E.C's zone, Murillo Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulão Salgado came out of the goal and Murillo Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Murillo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
