Jefferson Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho da Mata having to interfere. A collision led to Guapira getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Ulysses Pernambucano hit a great ball. If Dudu Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Guapira's zone, Jefferson Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho da Mata came out of the goal and Jefferson Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Frédson Terra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ipiabas's Nilson Zanette proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Ipiabas from getting a goal against them.
